Liverpool struck a blow ahead of the Champions League final against Real Madrid on May 28.

The Reds will take on the Spanish giants in Paris after securing their place in the final with a win over fellow La Liga team Villarreal. But there is a seriously bad omen for Jurgen Klopp’s side – after UEFA appointed Clement Turpin to referee the tie.

It comes as the Reds released a “optimistic” injury update from Fabinho ahead of the game in Paris later this month. And Luis Diaz’s mother has given a rare glimpse into life in the Liverpool dressing room as she revealed what the former Porto star has said about the club following his January move.

Omens for the final of the Champions League

Liverpool have been given a bad omen ahead of the Champions League final after UEFA announced Clement Turpin will officiate the game.

The Frenchman has overseen four Real Madrid games in his time – with Los Blancos claiming the winners each time. While this may bode badly for the Reds, it’s not all doom and gloom. Turpin has also taken charge of Liverpool twice before – a 1-1 draw with Spartak Moscow and a 2-0 win over RB Leipzig.
