Lizzo has released her highly anticipated fourth studio album, Special.
The pop star retweeted dozens of positive fan reactions to the 12-track release shortly after it dropped Thursday night.
“Special is here,” she wrote on social media, sharing a photo of herself smiling, similar to the one on the album cover.
Tracks include songs called Special and 2 Be Loved (Am I Ready) as well as previously released hit singles About Damn Time and Grrrls.
Lizzo announced that she is releasing a new version of Grrrls with a “lyrical change” after receiving backlash over the original track’s use of a sweep slur.
The pop superstar said she “never wants to encourage derogatory language,” adding that she is “determined to be a part of the change I’ve been waiting for in the world.”
Lizzo is known for encouraging body positivity and self-love in her music, but Grrrrls originally included a derogatory term for the condition spastic cerebral palsy in the opening verse.
