LoganPaul has recalled the time he met the UFC star Chamzat Chimaev in Sweden while recording an album.

Paul traveled to Sweden in 2019 to record an album that he would never release. The YouTuber visited the Allstars training center in Stockholm during his trip, home to several UFC fighters like Alexander Gustafsson, Ilir Latifi and Chimaev.

At the time, Chimaev had only had five professional fights behind him and competed at Brave CF, a Bahrain-based MMA promotion. Paul clearly remembers seeing Chimaev in the gym and said he looked like a “badass”.

“I went to Sweden to train for a few weeks and I went to this gym,” he said The MMA lesson. “I looked over and there was this guy kind of staring at me, big beard, looked like a badass.

“It was where [Alex] Gustafsson trained. Months later this guy named Khamzat Chimaev is doing an amazing UFC run and I’m like, ‘Oh my god, that was the guy who mugged me in that one gym in the middle of Sweden, in Stockholm.’”

“I was there to record an album. I try a lot of shit, it can’t get out. My producer was there, a lot of great and very talented music producers are Swedes and this guy happened to be in Sweden. It’s full – it’s very bad when singing.”

Chimaev was signed with the UFC after his sixth pro win. The Chechen was a breakout star in 2020, breaking records for fastest straight wins and fastest three-fight win streak in modern UFC history.

Paul said he rested a few gym members at Allstars, but not Chimaev. Recently “Borz”. welcomed Paul to a fight in the UFC But the 27-year-old, who has never fought in MMA before, said he would only be willing to box Chimaev.

“We showed up at the gym. I rested a few of their boys. They didn’t spare me Khamzat, but yeah he’s a damn dog! There’s no way I’m doing MMA with him. I would definitely box him. I’d be more than happy to box him, but that’s the problem, all these UFC fighters are locked up. It’s hard to get a fight with one of them,” Paul added.

After just four fights in the promotion, Chimaev could be next in line for a title shot if he gets past welterweight No. 2 Gilbert Burns at UFC 273 this Saturday.
