Loose women: Kaye slammed for ‘name-calling’ panel bodies

Loose girl Coleen Nolan was shocked on Tuesday’s ITV daytime talk show, when Kaye Adams made a comment about her weight.

The Loose Women discussed Victoria Beckham’s comments in a recent interview in which she described the desire to slim down as an “old fashioned attitude”.

The 48-year-old speculates that today’s women want to get curvy while she launches a new VB Body shapewear collection.

The fashion designer told Grazia magazine: “It’s an old-fashioned view of wanting to be skinny. I think women today want to look healthy and have curves. They want some boobs – and a parasite. “

The Loose Women sat down to discuss the new magazine profile, in which Victoria posed in her silhouette outfits for the magazine’s cover – including posing as a Playboy bunny.

During the candid conversation, Kaye Adams turned to Coleen Nolan and suddenly asked her about her weight, to which she said: “So where were you then? Because you go up and down…”

Coleen gasped in surprise, “Okay Kaye!”

She then laughed off the comment and went into detail about her journey with her body image.

Coleen explained: “Every season is a different person to me. I did everything. And in the end I always go back to the original position.

“Because of health problems, I lost a lot of weight. I never count calories, it’s not about a diet, it’s about health.”

Kaye also notes how the ideal of body image has permeated her own life.

“I grew up for most of my adult life thinking that being thin was good,” she said. And I have to be honest about that. Say “I have to be careful with what I say here.”

She added: “I have to be honest – I still think being thin is good for me.”

Panellist Katie Piper added on Victoria Beckham’s comments: “Body shaming is cleansing the body. If you’re calling someone to see what they look like, you’re embarrassing them.

“I think what Victoria is referring to is that in the ’90s, they called it luxury heroin. And now we have this Kardashian-style body.

“But it’s still a struggle to get that body type. What we call curvy now – it’s still hard to get in that shape.”

Panellist Brenda Edwards says: “I’m someone who respects my curves.” She added: “I think we should always include women’s bodies in the first place.

“It’s important to me people like Adele, where she looks great now, and yes she lost a bit of weight but I think she looked great back then.

“It was interesting to read the background, much of what she went on to say was that she was talking about her parasite. Why put so much emphasis on the bottom now?”
