The Loose Women opened up about their wedding horror stories during a candid chat on Thursday’s ITV daytime show.
Chaired by Jane Moore, panelists Frankie Bridge, Nadia Sawalha and Sunetra Sarker reminisced about their big days at the purple table.
The Saturday singer Frankie, 33, told ITV viewers about her dates with former Bedfordshire footballer Wayne Bridge seven years ago.
Frankie recalls the moment she “started to get better” before walking down the aisle with her dad, saying, “I have this thing that I don’t want to cry about because I’m done with my makeup.
“I know if I look at anyone I love, they’ll just brush me off.”
But she said her determination not to cry on the big day led her to walk down the aisle and stare at the floor, adding: “So I don’t have a good picture of my dad and I.”
Frankie continued: “Wayne wasn’t able to handle the whole wedding. He could barely get his speech out and he cried for weeks afterward.
“So my message to anyone about to get married is just cry. Make waterproof makeup. ”
She then adds her final piece of advice: don’t have a mirrored dance floor for the big day, no matter how beautiful it may look.
“I did it because aesthetically the room looked nice, but I didn’t think about any of my guests,” says Frankie.
“Obviously I’m already wearing ao dai, so it’s okay. Others can’t step onto the dance floor until they’re drunk if they’re wearing skirts. “
Panelist Nadia looked horrified and said, “Oh my God, what a mistake,” Frankie laughed and replied, “It looks great, though. That is a point worth mentioning. “
Moving down the panel, Jane details her own wedding day horror story as she tells her co-hosts how her husband, Gary Farrow, nearly missed the big day because he was arrested the night before.
Loose Women panelists visited the Claridges Hotel in London in 2002, with an all-star guest list that included Jonathan Ross, Barbara Windsor and Frank Skinner, while Sir Elton John was Gary’s best man.
“I’d get nervous before the wedding if I knew what was going to happen,” says Jane.
The 59-year-old journalist explained how her husband was “put into a cell” the night before.
She explained: “He was staying at a hotel with his partner and there was a fire alarm and he wouldn’t leave the hotel until he knew everyone was fine – then he was locked up.”
She said that when Gary was put in the cell, he could see it getting brighter and knew that their wedding would begin at 10 a.m.
Jane continued: “They finally released him and he was put in this detour and had to call his brother.
“He had to meet him in his wedding clothes and then he turned around and I said, ‘You look great. I thought he was still drunk.”
