Loose Women star Denise Welch attacked viewers who asked her to ‘shut up’ when she appeared on the ITV talk show.

On Monday’s episode (June 20), Denise, 64, shared with her panelists about the trolling she’s been through, with some telling her she talk too much.

Denise stars Ruth Langsford, Katie Piper, and Jane Moore, as they talk about filling awkward silences in conversations.

Denise explained that she often receives Tweets from trolls asking her to “shut up” or “shut up”. She used the segment to block these people saying, “Then don’t watch it.”

The mother-of-two said: “I tend to like to dress up a bit more.

“Sometimes with shy people I understand it’s not their fault, but sometimes shy people suck energy from you.

“It’s hard to be the one to initiate the conversation all the time.”

Katie replied, “Maybe shy people think you’re the fill-in and think ‘I wish she would stop asking me if I was on vacation’.”

Denise later hit back, saying: “I bet there are people on Twitter who will just ‘I wish she just shut up’ and ‘give everyone a chance to say something’.

“Come on, stop watching! There’s an off button.”

Many viewers were unhappy with Denise’s comments and took to Twitter to share their reactions.

One said: “Denise is talking about her again.”

Another wrote: “Shy people suck energy from others – Speaking rudely like extroverts loudly is annoying and should be ignored. Good job Denise.”

A third said: “Normally I agree with your point Denise but I feel a bit sad because of what you just said about shy people. We find it difficult as we are without being told that We’re negative, we just need the right people to help us along.”

Denise was recently forced to speak out after coming under attack from trolls who complained about her talking about her husband Lincoln Townley on the show.

She told Platinum Magazine: “They meant to troll me, but it was funny.

“They say ‘Denise is more about Lincoln than the Lincoln Tourist Board’. I love it! ”

Denise and Lincoln, 49, have been married since 2013.

Loose Women continues to air at 12:30pm tomorrow on ITV One.
