The terrifying business executive has won countless fans over the years for his scathing remarks and barbaric acts during The Apprentice’s interview period.

But Claude was forced to withdraw from his teammate role this year after suffering a horrific crash on his bike, so he was replaced with series one winner Tim Campbell. .

According to Claude, Lord Sugar wouldn’t even look at him or speak as he nervously sat down for his interview.
“He had my CV in front of him. We sat at the table and he didn’t look at me at all,” Claude told Radio Times in October 2015.
“He didn’t ask me any questions, so after a few minutes I said, ‘Do you want me to tell you a little bit about myself?’ He just looked out the window and started whistling.”
Claude realized that his efforts were unsuccessful so he closed his mouth – and was stunned by what happened next.
He continued: “I realized this was probably not going to be okay, so I stopped talking. He got up and walked out, and when he left he just said ‘bored’.”
Amazingly, Claude somehow managed to find a job with Lord Sugar despite an unimpressive start and quickly rose in the ranks.
Claude is the chairman and chief executive officer of several of Lord Sugar’s companies, including Amstrad International, Amstrad Spain and Dancall Telecom.

When the Amstrad boss was majority owner and chairman of Tottenham Hotspur, he appointed Claude as CEO from 1993 to 1998.
Claude rose to fame after appearing in interview stages of The Apprentice in the beginning and then becoming Lord Sugar’s assistant in 2015 alongside Karren Brady.
Unfortunately, Claude was involved in a horrific accident while cycling last April and was left behind for fear his leg would be amputated.
He was “making pottery” near his home in north London when the disaster struck, explaining: “I must have been doing no more than 10km an hour on this kind of two-way road. Next thing I know, I’m gone. on the left side of the road, my bike is in the middle of the road and I don’t know what happened.
“I suspect I hit a pothole or something like that, but I was definitely out of my mind at the time of impact, because next thing I know, I’m lying on the ground.”
An ambulance took Claude to the trauma unit at St Mary’s Hospital in Paddington, where surgeons successfully saved his leg after initially telling his loved ones they needed to amputate. leave it.
Speaking to PA, he continued: “My wife and sons were also there and [the doctors] they decided to amputate my leg.
“And then they had another conversation about it and they said, ‘Let’s see, let’s get him into the theater right away tonight and see if we can save his leg’.” And I went into the theater and it was a very long surgery and they didn’t take my leg off.”
One person concerned for Claude’s interests is Lord Sugar, who revealed his pal is “very well” following a six-hour surgery.
“He’s had a terrible experience. I can’t count the surgeries he’s had,” he told Lorraine last July.
“The irony is that he was simply hanging out on his bike. Not racing, not running fast or anything like that, just running eight or nine miles an hour. [and] disabled. Terrible accident.
“He’s very sad that he can’t be on this series but he’s fine. We talk every few days.”
Due to The Apprentice’s hectic filming schedule, Claude was unable to participate in filming for the latest film, although some may have been secretly relieved.
Lord Sugar added: “Obviously the candidates, while understanding that Claude isn’t here this year, I guess must have been thinking, ‘Oh, thank God for that!'”
After weeks of glued to the sofa watching the current series, Claude will return to our screens tonight for the interview period after being hounded by Lord Sugar to re-shoot.

He explained: “It was pretty funny; Alan came to my house one day – even though he called me almost every day – and he just said, ‘You’re going to do the interviews. , right?’ and I replied, ‘Of course yes’.
“The moment it came out of my mouth, I thought, how the heck can I actually do it? It’s true that at the time of filming I was feeling better but the team was still very kind and went to their destination. place. a lot of trouble for me to get in.”
Claude confirmed that he had seen the show aired with fans of The Apprentice, and joked that it was “disappointing” that the men were stoned by women.
“Personally, I have to say it’s disappointing that the girls performed well against the boys! Karren is clearly delighted,” he said.
“But on a serious level, it’s really engaging and captivating and that’s thanks to the production team, the crew; everyone involved. They’ve made a great series of films. under such challenging circumstances and it’s good to see the positive response from viewers of the show coming back.”
“I’ve enjoyed it so far and the contenders are a mix of outrageouss with very little chance of getting investment, a few that emerge over time and viewers can start to see the best products. It’s definitely proven and some good candidates will emerge and bloom.”
