Glastonbury: Lorde declares: ‘F**k High Court

Lorde shared her views on the Roe vs Wade flip in her background at the 2022 Glastonbury Festival.

The Royals singer played from 7:30 – 8:45pm on Sunday night and took the opportunity to declare ‘f**k the Supreme Court’.

On Friday, the Supreme Court overturned Roe vs Wade’s landmark ruling that made abortion legal nationwide nearly 50 years ago.

It is expected to lead to abortion bans in about half of the US states, and women in some states could be prosecuted if they have abortions.

Lorde, along with many other musicians during their performance at Glastonbury, used her large background to make the Supreme Court decision.

At the end of the song Secrets From a Girl (Who’s Seen It All), she slightly changed the lyrics to share a message regarding reversing the 1973 ruling.

“Your body was destined to be objectified before you were born. The horror is your right to be born. But here’s another secret,” she says.

“You possess ancient strength, ancient wisdom, wisdom that has lifted every woman that has come before you.”

She added: “I ask you today to make accessing that wisdom the work of your life because everything depends on it.”

Lorde ended it by declaring ‘f**k is the Supreme Court’.

The 25-year-old singer isn’t the only one to end up guaranteeing abortion rights in the US.

Olivia Rodrigo performed on the Other Stage on Saturday night and invited Lily Allen to the stage to dedicate a song for the Supreme Court.

The duo dedicated Lily’s song ‘F***k You’ to the Supreme Court and shared their anger over the shocking decision being made about reproductive rights.

The good 4 u singer went on to discuss overdoing it, saying: “I’m devastated and appalled and a lot of women and a lot of girls are going to die from this.

“I want to dedicate this follow-up song to the five members of the Supreme Court who have shown us that at the end of the day, they really don’t consider freedom.

“This song is addressed to the Judges,” she added before naming Samuel Alito, Clarence Thomas, Neil Gorsuch, Amy Coney Barrett and Brett Kavanaugh.

Other celebrities who have made the ruling include Billie Eilish, who performed on the Pyramid Stage on Friday night.
