Losses in Old School’s RuneScape group archive will be restored

Research team at Old School RuneScape worked hard to resolve the initial issues with Legends III server launch and several follow-up problems, including some reported item losses from the Iron Man Group archives. There have been some hot fixes and new work underway to address these issues and keep things running.

After Legends III world launch, the team had to push the activity back to the servers just before the update brought Legends. However, all scores and progress were kept. The worlds have opened up successfully and the mode is up and running. However, no game is without bugs. Even so, the current Iron Man group seems to have the biggest impact.

Group Ironman is still a new mode, and the first the game has seen in years, so there was a few growing pains. The shared memory for Iron Man teams within the team is still newer. Players have reported the loss of items connected to their pool storage. In an update in response to initial reports, it was confirmed that pool memory is stored in a different location than the player’s own saved files. The problems were connected with decision to restore the main server to the point before the update. It looks like players who moved items from the pool storage in the time before the restore were affected.

The problem cannot be fixed through a hotfix like some others, but a fix will come. After investigating, they discovered that some players lost items and some received extra items. As for those lost items, the OSRS team is working towards recovering what was lost after this week’s update. For those with extra items, no action will be taken as the impact is relatively small.
