Lost Ark Devs reacts to major launch and server crashes as one-month anniversary approach

Lost Ark had a historically strong debut when it was released in mid-February, bursting to the top of the charts on Steam, Twitch, and other platforms. Since then, it has faltered somewhat, but that doesn’t make its initial gains any less impressive. As of this writing, it is having 134k viewers on Twitch, topped only by Grand Theft Auto 5 and the newly launched Elden Ring.

Speaking via email, Amazon Games franchise leader Soomin Park spoke of the team’s surprise at its reception, calling it “a labor of love.”

“The development teams at both Amazon Games and Smilegate RPG have been absolutely shocked and thrilled by the reception of Lost Ark since its launch in the West,” said Park. “To say that the teams on both sets were surprised by this reaction would be an understatement!”
