Lord of the Rings fans got a closer look at what to expect from the new series The Rings Of Power, inspired by author JRR Tolkien’s extended notes.
The first episode of Lord Of The Rings: The Rings Of Power will be released on Amazon Prime on September 2.
In a brand new trailer, which debuted at Comic Con in San Diego on Friday, a voiceover can be heard saying, “Finally, we think the war is over.”
Through various clips of bright and seemingly joyful scenes, it continued: “We thought our joy would never cease, we thought our lights would never dim Go.”
But things quickly take a turn for the worse when Galadriel, played by Morfydd Clark, can be seen placing his hand on a globe before the carnage unfolds with almighty fight scenes.
“Together, we can survive this,” the voiceover added, “Fight me. Each of us has to decide who we will be. “
Flames and destruction appear over and over again as glimpses of the action unfold are shown.
The series, set thousands of years before the events of the world-famous The Hobbit and The Lord Of The Rings books, will follow the events of the Second Age and the forging of the famous rings.
Saint Maud and His Dark Materials star Clark debuted as the powerful royal elf Galadriel, who was played by Cate Blanchett in the Peter Jackson films.
Following the release of the first trailer earlier this month, viewers can afford to get a deeper understanding of the story behind the ring forging.
The trailer ends when a voice says, “You’ve been told many lies about Middle-earth.”
