Love Is Blind star Shake Chatterjee has embarked on a new romance to co-star Deepti Vempati following his failed engagement.
The reality TV star revealed his new girlfriend to his Instagram fans on Thursday – with what appeared to be a cheeky dig at his ex-fiancée.
Shake, who was one of the villains in the second series of the Netflix show, shared a sweet collection of snaps and videos with his new beau to his 171,000 followers.
The vet and new girlfriend Emily looked over the moon as they posed together for the camera in front of the Chicago skyline.
In one of the pictures, the blonde beauty pulls the reality TV star in for a peck on the cheek – while he flashes a big smile.
“Good things come to those who don’t settle,” Shake captioned the Instagram reveal — possibly a thinly veiled dig at his ex Deepti.
Comments on the post have been limited, but the snaps have garnered over 12,000 likes so far.
Emily – who is tagged in the post – also shared a series of pictures of herself with the vet on her own Instagram stories over the past week.
Speak with People Earlier this month, Shake admitted he was “the luckiest man”. [he’s] ever been”.
“Right now I’m self-centered. It’s interesting though, because when you get selfish, that’s when you get the most attention,” he told the American publication.
“If you prioritize yourself — I honestly think that’s the best relationship advice I can give anyone.”
Shake’s new romance comes after he received backlash for his actions in series two of Love Is Blind, which premiered on Netflix last month.
Many viewers criticized his treatment of Deepti, to whom he became engaged after only knowing her for 10 days.
Throughout the reality TV series, many noted that Shake often asked Deepti about her weight and physical appearance — despite the show’s format being entirely personality-based.
Host Nick Lachey even suggested the contestant was “on the wrong show,” noting that there are other looks-focused series available.
After popping the question and meeting Deepti in person, Shake admitted to everyone but his fiancé that he wasn’t attracted to her.
The pair never made it down the aisle after Deepti opted not to marry Shake at the altar, revealing that she “chose herself” instead.
During the Netflix show’s reunion, she also addressed the “disrespectful” way in which she felt her ex spoke to women.
“It’s extremely disrespectful how you do it and how you say it. It’s demeaning for women,” she said earlier this month.
“I’m so happy for every single person sitting on this couch today because they’re standing behind me and calling you.”
Shake initially didn’t apologize for his actions, but later apologized publicly to Deepti – claiming he was “really sorry” for some of the things he said during the show.
“I wanted to take this opportunity to really just apologize to a woman that I know I’ve hurt,” he said in an Instagram video.
“Deepti, I’m really sorry for some of the things I said. Things that honestly just went unsaid or could have been said differently. Things that should never have been shown on national television. You were my best friend.”
