Love Is Blind’s Abhishek ‘Shake’ Chatterjee is not ashamed of her behavior with Deepti Vempati on the dating show.
The Netflix star was criticized by fans after some footage showed him talking negatively about 31-year-old Deepti – to whom he was engaged on the show – behind her back.
Making clear he was not upset about the backlash, the 33-year-old told critics he would not apologize for the way he acted in the actual series and would not ‘pretend’ sad or sorry’ in a video shared on the Instagram Page on Tuesday.
Shake defended himself in the clip, saying he “handled the situation as best as anyone in my situation could”.
When he went topless to his followers, he told fans: “I mentioned earlier that there are definitely things I want to do for myself or be better but there’s one thing I don’t. I feel like doing is pretending to be sad or apologetic. About certain things – things that are beyond my control, certain things that I can’t even necessarily say.”
He added: “I think I handled the situation as best as anyone in my situation could.”
Appearing to draw on his own experience, Shake ended his message: “And at the end of the day, I’ll live my best life moving forward. And you don’t have to like me. Only I have to like me, thankfully. And that’s real life.”
Shake captioned the video: “And that’s just real life” with an emoji shrugging off a man’s shoulder.
The Confident Shake was hit on social media after the second Love Is Blind TV series when he often expressed that he was not physically attracted to Deepti but admitted they had a good emotional connection.
In one example, he said Deepti was like he was with his aunt during a chat with co-star Jarrette Jones.
After the series aired, Deepti – who decided not to marry Shake in the finale of the series – shared that she was really hurt watching the show again.

Talk to Buzzfeed, she said : “Shake and I had conversations about our physical proximity and lack of chemistry.
“But to watch it back and see how he did it – it’s like, ‘Oh, look at me, I’m this cool guy going to talk about you to my friends.
“You don’t talk about someone being your fiancé, let alone a best friend – or even just a real friend – that way.”
She added: “It was kind of disappointing and hard to watch, especially because my parents were affected by it. We welcomed him into our home.”
