Tonight’s last date schmoozerama (part one) was appropriately epic. Even more so given Iain Stirling, who literally ripped the proverbial from the production team last night for tying grapefruit to twine as decorations for the girls’ Baby Day brunch.
Given the size of Paige and Adam’s ship, the sheer volume of musicians and dancers attending Dami and Indiyah’s fiesta, and the number of candles needed for Ekin and Davide’s dinner (not to mention a personal one performance by Alfie Boe), it’s kind of clear now where yesterday’s brunch budget has dwindled.
Tomorrow night will see the final dates for Luca and Gemma (assuming they are still together) and Tasha and Andrew. After Danica failed to choose Deji, resulting in both getting the boot alongside their respective late freshman bombshells, viewers have been vying for another plausible couple to cheer for. On the plus side, at least Danica is now free to yell motivating soundbites on the sidelines.
If Danica and Deji were a thing (sorry; I’ll get over that eventually), the longest-standing couple at the mansion — that’s Andrew and Tasha — could easily have been marginalized given the grade they’re on to appear. There’s more happening, but let’s count the ways…
Tashandrew Love Island Timeline…
First, the public paired them from the offset. They’ve been together since day one — save for Andrew telling Coco he wanted to “ruin” her during an undercover session (“or whatever”) when she first arrived at Casa Amor. You might judge him harshly for that, but – in his defense – all the new Casa people pouring in led him to believe that Tasha had stopped him in case things didn’t work out with one of the new bombs that were coming in. Of course, to be fair to Tasha, new bombshells wanted to meet her too—as Ekin pointed out; Tasha is A MODEL.
While they both brought fodder from Casa Amor (Billy and Coco), it was clearly because they were both hedging their bets in case the other came back with someone. And that’s why it worked. Since their reunion, they’ve been solid. Even when Tasha heard Andrew feasting on Coco’s appendages (for lack of a better term), she kept her cool.

There was a bit of jiggling, however, as the pair found themselves in the bottom two. Maybe it was a cumulative effect, but that hit Tasha hard, especially since it wasn’t the first time they were in this particular position. So she cried. And that was their “overreaction”. According to a large chunk of the (male) islanders, she should have been happy that she and Andrew had just gone ‘official’ and not cried at all.
It’s been going really well since then. Why? Because Andrew finally stood up for her after Snog, Marry, Pie. He saw the level Luca and Dami dropped to – ostensibly on Andrew’s behalf – to make her feel generally worthless when she was a comparable saint on the whole.
Other turning points…
The number of pivots in the last week has been productive. From Ekin and Tasha sharing a tear on the patio to celebrate the last week at the villa, to Andrew looking super delighted for every other couple at the villa, and both super thrilled that they were yesterday took care of their plastic baby, all these feelings are overflowing for this couple.
Will they be last year’s Millie and Liam and win? They really could, especially since they are updated versions. Still vanilla, but with a cheeky swirl of either raspberry coulis or salted caramel lurking beneath the surface – complete with safe words and specialty masks. In the meantime, we have her appointment for the next day.
Also, we have Gemma and Luca’s date tomorrow which is sure to raise a lot of laughs as the 19 year old really (doesn’t) want him to father her future babies. And who could blame her.
