Love Island Ireland finalist Dami says ‘he made us proud’

Dami Hope, the father of finalist Ireland Love Island, says he believes his son will one day be a great father.

Ami’s nurturing team came out this week when he and co-star Indiyah Polack won the hit show’s baby mission contest.

As Wexford’s 26-year-old prepares for tomorrow’s final, his father Babajide revealed his son will be the perfect dad he developed when he was young in his care. his brothers and sisters.

“He got used to it, because when he was growing up in the house, he used to babysit and change the babies diapers,” he said.

“When the youngest Amanda was very young and about 10 years old – he always lovingly drove her around and protected her.

“He was always helping and protecting the younger people, in everything they did.”

Babajide, who is of Nigerian descent and lives in New Ross, Co. Wexford, revealed he and most of his family will be in Dubai this weekend and will watch the final from there.

“We are having a family vacation, we do this every year in August to celebrate our anniversary,” he explains. “The last two girls came with us. We go to different places every year, stopping the last couple because of the pandemic. “

As well as Babajide’s father, a council worker, Dami’s family includes mother Bukola, a carer, younger sister Abosede (29 years old), who is a cook, sister and team leader Femi (24 years old), born University of Technology David (21 years old), a law university student. Cynthia (19 years old) and Junior Cert Amanda (16 years old).

Babajide also said Dami will have family support at the final as his sister Femi and first cousin Alicia flew to Majorca to cheer and greet him as he left the villa.

Babajide told Sunday World: “Everybody is excited about it and we can’t wait to see it.

“He’s made us proud and everyone at Wexford is talking about it,” he said.

“Ireland has always supported him and we are very happy about that.”

He is also full of praise for Indiyah and says he can’t wait to meet her in person.

“She’s a lovely girl and very modest, according to what we’re seeing on national television,” he said. “We can’t wait to meet you both.”

Dami’s older sister Cynthia has previously said how she thinks Indiyah suits her brother.

“She is absolutely beautiful. I just think they’re perfect together. Their personalities are similar. I like her as a human being. She is also very open and honest,” she said.

Dami studied Biosciences with Biopharmaceuticals in Carlow, and now lives in Dublin.
