Love Island star Matthew MacNabb and dance partner DWTS have played down romance rumors despite on-screen chemistry

LOVE Island star Matthew MacNabb and his dance partner have quashed romance rumors despite their on-screen chemistry.
The greyhound, 26, put his tongue in beckoning last weekend after a 50 Shades of Gray themed procedure with Laura Nolan.
But even though Laura describes being single Matthew As “awesome eye candy”, she revealed that her own relationship status is complicated.
She told the Irish Sun: “We started getting vibes with Fifty Shades during rehearsals.
“That’s my vibe because it’s all about dating and love.
“The song is a good song when it comes to doing something intimate and having that feeling between us.
“I would have liked the judges to pick that but it just wasn’t.”
Asked if they were single, Matt said, “Yes,” but Laura replied, “No, I’m not single.”

MacNabb previously shot to fame on Love Island last year, but admits Covid has made the casual date he once did impossible.
“I obviously couldn’t do that,” he admitted.
“Now on Instagram and DM you have to be a lot more careful, because in there, you don’t know who might be trying to trick you or whatever so it’s all a little different.”
HELL WEEKEND
Star of From RTE Ultimate Hell Week also revealed how Laura got Matt through his own ‘final hell week’ in practice sessions but they ended the night at the bottom of the scoreboard, scoring just 13 points.
Laura admits: “I spent a hell of a week teaching Matt. I went a little ‘DS’ on him. . . ”
But new judge Arthur Gourounlian was less impressed, telling the Co Down man: “You’re tall, black and handsome but is that enough? You need to loosen up.”
Colleague reviewer Brian Redmond also commented on Matt’s 6ft 6in height and commented: “You’re too big to allow Laura to move you around the floor.
“That’s a bit slow in some places.”
But the contestants blamed Covid for their lack of rehearsals after both dancers tested positive last week.
Matt argues: “I feel like I danced pretty well. I think the judges’ comments were a bit harsh.”
Laura explains: “We just got back to training last Wednesday. We don’t want to be at the bottom but the only way is to go up. We’ll have another dance next week and will be able to pull it out of the bag with a full week of training.”
‘SWEET EYES’
The Dublin dance pro said she was delighted to hear that Matt was joining the hit RTE show.
Laura said: “He was the candy eye and what the girls wanted.
“And the fact that he was going to dance and not just sit and talk made the girls even more excited. We have a good energy together. ”
But Matt Rejecting being so tall can be a problem on the dance floor.
“I think my height can be a big advantage. To get to that point just takes more work than the average person.”
Laura added: ‘I’m 5ft 8in, which isn’t small for a woman, but when you look at it we have a bit of a height difference.
“There has to be a lot of coordination with such long limbs. It takes more energy to keep up with the pace of a smaller person.
“But I think we’ll have a whole new energy next week and the judges will be impressed.”
