TikTok user reveals Love Island bought her item on eBay

Love Island’s stylist has begun snapping up used bikinis and unique straw hats from eBay ahead of the new series, which opens next month.

Last week, the popular ITV dating show made the big announcement that it would be ditching fast fashion brands in favor of a more sustainable practice.

But one eBay seller discovered that one of their items had been bag-packed by Love Island stylist Amy Bannerman, who used the buyer name loveisla-87.

Love Island fan Lucy Earnshaw shared a video to her TikTok where she showed her followers what she’s recently sold on the sales site – and it was unbelievable when she saw it heading to eBay headquarters to use for a gig.

“Here I am, stumbled upon on eBay, all my summer things that I no longer wear – the pretty little watermelon sunshade that I don’t wear anymore is included,” she said.

She then shared a photo of the hat, which is not something you usually see on primetime shows.

“I don’t remember how long I’ve had it but I haven’t worn it in a while. So I think it deserves a better home,” she continued.

She then shared the address her watermelon hat would be sent to and noticed that it said eBay.

“However, that house would be eBay, so I think that’s a bit odd!, but I didn’t notice the handle at the time,” she said, pointing to the buyer’s name.

The TikToker then started showing all the news the show had recently about their partnership with eBay, and she exclaimed, “I think it could be on Love Island!”

Then she zoomed in on an article that had been written about Amy specifically, and she said, “It really belongs to Amy, just the right people we need to keep our eyes on.”

According to One Represent: Fashion, Amy is the Fashion Director of Cosmopolitan and has a “huge passion for second-hand clothing” and “regularly wears these items in her shoots.”

Love Island has changed its strategy after facing backlash from environmental groups and sustainability advocates, who say the program promotes a disposable attitude towards fashion.

The program is also making efforts to further support the mental health of the candidates
