Love Island’s Anna Vakili reveals two islanders she didn’t like

Love Island’s Anna Vakili says she was arrested in Iran after being told her jeans were too tight.

The reality TV star, who appeared on the hit ITV2 dating show in 2019, revealed she was “grabbed” and police tried to put her in a van.

Luckily her aunt was able to interject and say that Anna was from England and didn’t know the laws well enough.

On Johnny Seifert’s Secure The Insecure podcast, she said, “I got arrested in Iran for wearing jeans.”

She further explained that women in Iran must dress modestly and that the government prohibits women from wearing skirts and jeans.

Anna continued: “It was really scary because all I remember is all these policewomen grabbing me and trying to put me in the van.

“They said in Farsi, ‘Your jeans are too tight and that’s not Islamic,’ and they tried to push me into the car.

“My aunt grabbed me and pulled me away and said, ‘She’s English, she’s from England, she doesn’t know’.

“I pretended I couldn’t speak Farsi and they let me go because I’m from England and I didn’t know the laws enough.”

It comes after Anna admitted she was afraid to open up about having an abortion 10 years ago.

She said: “I’m really afraid to open up about it, but I think it’s important to do it because I’ve learned from my own mistake.

“And if other people can learn from my mistake, then that’s the best thing that can come of it.

“When I was younger – about 21, I had unprotected sex – I don’t know what I was thinking. I wasn’t thinking and ended up getting pregnant.”

She added: “Obviously I was very young and not ready and had an abortion.

“At that age you don’t think what can happen and I deeply regret that I became pregnant.

“I didn’t want to be pregnant and have an abortion — I don’t like that. So if you can avoid it – do it.”

She then shared an insight into how she practices safer sex today, adding, “I’ve been practicing safer sex ever since and I’m on the reel now.”
