It’s hard to believe that Love Island’s time is near, but one of the contestants already has a sizable following.
Gemma Owen, 19, is the daughter of former England footballer Michael.
The gorgeous brunette has thousands of fans on Instagram and assumes she has a competitive nature, just like her dad.
Speaking ahead of her debut next week, she said: “I’ve been competing for Great Britain in kit since I was 11. I traveled all over Europe competing in the big arenas in the big competitions. I would say that I am very competitive.
“When it comes to relationships, I’ll always go for what I want.”
Of course Gemma isn’t the only celebrity to go after what she wants.
Dani Dyer and Belle Hassan also rolled the dice – with different outcomes.
Dani Dyer
As the daughter of Danny Dyer, Dani has a big shoe to fill.
The EastEnders actor is known for his absurd life attitude.
But Dani has had a thorny love path on the show.
The mother of one broke fans’ hearts when she broke down in tears after discovering Jack Fincham had been unfaithful in the past.
However, that didn’t stop the pair from jumping out with the prize money.
After winning the show, the pair managed to get things going when they returned from Majorca.
But it’s not like that.
They split shortly after Dani rekindled her relationship with the now-disgraced con man Sammy Kimmence.
On an episode of the Sorted with the Dyers podcast, the former dental nurse admitted her father didn’t want her on the show.
She said, “He doesn’t like me. We don’t really talk. It’s very awkward. God, I walk into the room and it’s going to be awkward.”
“No, we don’t talk,” Danny confessed. “I think I was upset because we were so close and you talked about it with everyone, I was the last one.”
Danis is currently dating West Ham footballer Jarrod Bowen, who is said to have received consent from Hammers fan Danny.
Belle Hassan
Belle’s father Tamer Hussan is a famous actor, having starred in Football Factory and Game of Thrones.
Trusting her father to have given her a “link to the world of fame,” Belle made a splash at Casa Amor in 2015.
Speaking before her debut, she said Tamer was: “a very supportive father… he was like my best friend and was always there for me.
“He told me to be myself but also warned me that ‘I’m watching and I’ll watch every detail’.”
Hopefully Tamer didn’t see every detail when his daughter paired up with Anton Danyluk in the mansion.
However, despite striking a romance in the sun, the pair split just five weeks after the show, with Belle reportedly fed up with her mistress’ partying ways.
Missy Keating
Ronan Keating’s daughter, Missy, is rumored to be joining the beauties’ mansion this year.
The Boyzone star’s eldest daughter, 21, is expected to head to Majorca to have fun in the sunshine.
And Ronan didn’t do anything to quell the rumors on Good Morning Britain when asked about the speculation.
He wittily said, “I haven’t heard yet,” before adding, “You never know. These kids are busy, all my kids, they’re doing different things. I myself haven’t heard anything yet.”
The male singer also admitted that even though he’s a huge fan of Love Island, he will have a hard time watching his daughter on the show.
“I don’t know how I would feel about that,” he told hosts Kate Garraway and Ben Shephard.
“I won’t be able to watch.”
* Love Island premieres at 9 p.m. Monday, June 6 on ITV2 and ITV Hub. Episodes are available the next morning on BritBox.
