Love Island’s Jacques said on social media: ‘I’m in a better place since I left the show’

Jacques O’Neill has said he’s in a ‘better’ place after escaping Love Island.

he 23-year-old rugby player left the ITV show 10 days ago after telling his countrymen he was not himself

On social media, he updated his followers on his state of health following his tumultuous time on the show.

“I just want you all to know that I’m in a better place mentally,” he said.

“A huge reason for that is for all the love and support I have received! I would be in a much darker place if it weren’t for all your kind words, so thank you again, I appreciate that very much. “

Jacques was paired with Welsh girl Paige Thorne during his time on the dating show, but after his time at Casa Amor, things started to go south.

The pair had an explosive confrontation when it was revealed that Jack and bombshell Cheyenne shared a kiss during her time on the show.

Contestant Casa Amor even thought Jacques would fight her again when the Casa Amor challenge was over.

After the footage was shown on TV, Jacques’ family shared that he had been diagnosed with ADHD.

“Jacques was diagnosed with ADHD when he was 9 years old,” they said in a social media post.

“By no means is this a dismissal clause for his actions but it does show that he can fundamentally struggle with his emotions at times.

“He is an amazing person that I am proud to call my friend/brother.

“All the hatred towards Jacques doesn’t go directly to him…. It goes to his loved ones who have always supported him and not just while he was on Love Island.

“Love Island, even though it’s real. Still a show over which the producers have control, and we see 45 minutes out of 1440 in 24 hours. “

In an interview with The Sun after leaving the show, he said “Doing Love Island was the worst decision of my life.”

“I was ready to break down. I was feeling so exhausted mentally, I just wanted to go home and make myself normal,” he said of his departure.

“It broke me and I broke down. I cried without tears. I couldn’t cope. I really felt terrible. It was the worst thing I’ve ever felt in my life.” Love Island’s Jacques said on social media: ‘I’m in a better place since I left the show’
