Love Island contestant Jay Younger is said to have promised a ‘serious future’ to a woman he later dumped to appear on the show.

Jay, a 28-year-old Investment Analyst from Edinburgh, walked into the villa earlier this week and made instant acquaintances with the women.

However, a lot of heartbreaking things happened behind the scenes for Jay to appear on our screens as a single man.

A woman he is dating, named Ems, claims that he promised to buy them a house with the bonus he received.

“He sold me a dream and I was devastated,” she said Sun.

“Then a few days later on the phone, he said to me, ‘When I’m on Love Island, I’ll rub my ears when I think of you, like a secret symbol’.

“He said, ‘I want you to be my girlfriend, I see a future with you, I see marriage and children’.”

Another ex-girlfriend, named Mal, also stoned the contestant and said he dumped her days before she was meant to spend Christmas with her family.

She claimed the way he ended the relationship showed how ‘selfish’ he is.

Mirror has contacted Love Island for comment on the contestant.

Jay has only been at the mansion for a short time, but it seems he has come into conflict with the other contestants.

On the fourth episode of the ITV2 show, Jacques O’Neill clashed with the new boy Jay.

Gemma Owen’s ex isn’t really welcoming to the newcomer and appeared to mock him during a group chat.

Asked what he did for a job, he was quick to announce to others that he was a rugby player as if he thought it would threaten him.

Jacques asked him: “What do you do, big boy?” to which Jay replied, looking awkward: “I work in finance as an investment analyst.”

Seemingly intimidated by the most recent appearance, Jacques then said to him: “You have? I play football boys.”

Jay quickly created a fight with the Islander, making it clear that he’s not worried about stepping on anyone’s toes.

He quips: “You’re a bit small for a rugby player, aren’t you?” Jacques replied, “Oh, is that so? Hey, if you run at me the right way, I’ll level you, so…”
