Love Island’s Millie Court asks fans not to speculate on the reason for the breakup

Millie Court has urged fans not to speculate on the reasons behind her shocking split from Liam Reardon less than a year after they won Love Island.

The pair beat Chloe Burrows and Toby Aromolaran to the crown of ITV2 dating show last summer and split the £50,000 prize money.

On Wednesday, the couple announced their split, calling it a “difficult decision” but they added that they were “ready for new chapters”.

The former Asos Court administrator has since broken her silence on the split, asking fans not to believe what they’ve seen on social media.

She wrote on an Instagram story: “The last thing I want is for people to say nasty things about Liam or blame him, or vice versa, things won’t end as well as it did. if something happens.

“Going through a breakup is hard enough, let alone when people are spreading nasty rumors that are simply not true.

“Please remember we are human too, we have feelings and are always kind. You never really know what someone is going through.

“I know I’ve been quiet for a few days but I need time to digest, and should also turn off my phone and clear my head. However, most of my work is online and I love my job very much.

“I will continue to post as usual, but again, be mindful of what you are commenting on. Love you guys.”

Court thanked the fans for “making me smile on a really difficult day” with their support and kind words. She added: “I feel so lucky to have all of you in my life.”

She also shared a photo on her Instagram story showing former Love Island host Caroline Flack and contestants Sophie Gradon and Mike Thalassitis, all deceased.

The photo was captioned: “In a world where you can be anything… be kind.”

The Essex-based court and former Reardon member, from Wales, nearly split on Love Island last year after he was unfaithful at Casa Amor with fellow contestant Lillie Haynes.

After winning the show’s seventh series, the couple bought an apartment in Essex. Love Island’s Millie Court asks fans not to speculate on the reason for the breakup
