Lucky Irish Lotto players win a life-changing sum of €190,000 as people are urged to check tickets carefully

A CELEBRATION is taking place in an Irish household tonight after a lucky lottery player won a life-changing prize of over €190,000.

Although players will have to wait until Wednesday for a chance to win tonight’s €2,000,000 Unclaimed Lotto Jackpot, the €194,994 Match 5 + Bonus was won.

Players were advised to check their tickets carefully as they could be the winner of the staggering sum.

Meanwhile, the €1,342 Match 5 prize was also won by 21 ticket holders.

The results of the lottery draw were as follows:

09, 10, 25, 32, 34, 38 and the bonus number 23.

The top prize of €1,000,000 in the Lotto Plus 1 draw was also unclaimed, while the Match 5 + Bonus prize of €5,000 was also unclaimed.

However, 11 players won the Match 5 prize of 5,000.

The results of the Lotto Plus 1 draw were as follows:

04, 07, 20, 34, 38, 40 and the bonus number 03.

Likewise, there was no winner of the €250,000 top prize in the Lotto Plus 2 draw.

The match 5 + bonus prize of €2,500 didn’t produce a winner either.

The results of the Lotto Plus 2 draw were as follows:

01, 10, 16, 22, 27, 47 and the bonus number 43.

There were 80 raffle prize winners who received €500 each.

The lottery number was 4989.

Players holding one of today’s winning tickets are advised to sign the back of their ticket and keep it in a safe place before presenting it for payment.

The news comes after lottery bosses announced the location of Wednesday night’s lottery jackpot worth a whopping €11,106,436.

The family-run local shop in Foynes in Co Limerick rejoiced on Friday after receiving the happy news that they had indeed sold the life-changing ticket.

On the day of the draw, Wednesday January 4th, the lucky player purchased their Quick Pick ticket from Kelly’s Costcutter.

Located on Main Street in the heart of Foynes town, Kelly’s Costcutter is run by sibling duo Eoin and Trisha, who took over the business from parents Vincent and Breda in 2018.

Discussing the big win, co-owner Trisha said; “Honestly, we just can’t believe it! We heard the news on Thursday morning that the winning ticket had been sold in Limerick but we didn’t know it was in our shop.

“With excitement, we frantically checked our own tickets, but unfortunately it wasn’t us.

“A few hours later I got a call from the National Lottery saying we had sold the winning ticket and to hear those words – it was the next best thing to winning the jackpot – it’s amazing!”

The Kelly Family is no stranger to seeing their customers enjoying great lottery success after winning €9.6 million in EuroMillions in their shop in 2006.

“Big lottery wins are always a huge boost to local businesses and their communities, and Foynes is no different.

“When we had the big EuroMillions win in 2006 it was literally all the local community could talk about for months and it was just fantastic.
