Luis Diaz has found his feet on the pitch in Liverpool and is helped by a selection of team-mates.
The winger joined from Porto in January and already seems to be another sensational transfer deal for the Reds. Diaz has scored five times for Liverpool and has fitted right into the team and their style of play.
He was an integral part of their Champions League comeback on Tuesday night at Villarreal.
Diaz, a Colombia international, speaks Spanish as his first language and will almost certainly have learned Portuguese while he was playing in Portugal. It has allowed him to instantly communicate with the likes of Thiago, Roberto Firmino, Alisson and goalkeeper Adrian.
England duo Harvey Elliott and Curtis Jones have also linked to Diaz, which has left Jurgen Klopp stunned.
He said of Colmbian: “Thiago, Bobby, Ali, Adrian all helped him. He’s also very close to Curtis Jones and Harvey (Elliott), I have no idea how they speak. On an emotional level, they are like that [locks fingers] and they were there in a week and it’s really weird.”
Diaz has played 21 games for the four-time chasers since his midseason move. His arrival has given the squad a new injection as they chase after an historic quad with multiple trophies still up for grabs. Liverpool had planned to wait until the summer to sign the winger but Klopp is grateful they made the move early.
He added: “An incredible impact, sure. There’s enough room in any squad in the world for a world-class player – that’s Luis, that’s why we wanted him so badly and that’s why we were so happy we could.” get him. It makes the difference. If you look at our Champions League games, when we played Porto he was still there, so it’s a really strange situation.

“Now he’s going to the final with us, that’s absolutely outstanding. You saw what it means to him. Yes, bringing in an outstanding player is good for any squad and was definitely good for us – not just because we had the Afrikaner Cup when the lads weren’t there, but also because of that. Thank god we made that decision because it helped everywhere.”
Andy Robertson was among those who got to see firsthand how good Diaz is, sharing the left flank with the new boy at Kirby. The Scot has helped his team-mates become even better despite having had a brilliant start to life on Merseyside.
He said: “He’s a special, special player. The talent he has, the will he needs to win. He’s a perfect fit for us…season that’s scary.”
