He explained that everyone in the airport thought he was Matt LeBlanc from Friends and said it was hilarious because he was treated like royalty.
Speaking on the Vogue podcast began by saying: “Something funny happened to us at the airport yesterday, we were at Malé airport.”
“It’s absolutely ridiculous,” Spencer said.
Vogue then went on to say, “They’re nice to Spencer but weirdly nice to him.
“It was kind of bowing to him and we were like, ‘What’s going on. Thought they had Made In Chelsea there.”
Spencer then went on to explain that people thought he was a Hollywood actor and that he was treated very well by airport staff.
He explained: “It all started with the guy who made the first passport and he was really like triple snap, he was looking at my passport photo and it was like he was staring at me and looking at me. my passport photo.
“And I thought, ‘God, being famous in Malé is weird. I have to say we’ve done a great job with this podcast that’s clearly killing it. It can’t be Made In Chelsea what is it?”
“‘Did they have The Bachelor or what would the Jump be like?”
“He thought I was Joey from friends and he literally, ‘It’s a friend’s actor,’ and I was like, ‘Friends? Joey? “.”
MISTAKEN Identifier
He went on to say: “Then I have to think there’s no way he’d mistake me for Matt Le Blanc.
“He thinks I’m Joey from Friends like one of the first seasons and I’m thinking, ‘It’s like they’ve literally just started watching Friends in Malé.
Vogue wittily said: “No, they think you’re old Joey.”
Spencer then went on to explain that he decided to accept his false identity and even started saying some of his famous quotes.
The reality TV star said: “Anyway, it’s clear that I really like this new type of character.
‘TO PLAY ALONG’
“So I played with it and I told everyone the old saying ‘How are you?’ I said, ‘How are you?’ for everyone.
“So glad the passport control guy called the lounge and had them take us out and do everything and they called our flight.
“And the guy from the lounge ran up to us and said, ‘Don’t worry Matt, I’ll tell you when to go. There will be terrible queues, I’ll keep an eye on it, I’ll come and get it. you, and I said, “Okay.”
“We had the best time as I took pictures with all of them and they were like we needed your pictures for the wall at the Mali airport and I loved it.”
