Three people were found dead from gunshot wounds in a property on one of Madrid’s most prestigious streets.

They were described as a man and two women.

Police made the gruesome discovery at around 10.30am this morning at an apartment building on Serrano Street in the Spanish capital, Calle Serrano in Spanish.

Investigators are currently on site.

Initial inquiries suggest the dead trio are a mother, her son and a woman who worked at the property, according to local reports.

According to unconfirmed reports, detectives are believed to be focusing on the theory that the son killed the two women before shooting himself.

Serrano Street is synonymous with high-end shopping.

The emblematic and exclusive shopping street is the location for a number of luxury flagship stores.

Near the intersection of Calle Serrano, Calle Velázquez and Calle Ortega y Gasset is what is popularly known as “Madrid’s Golden Mile”.

The nationalities of the three dead have not yet been announced.
