The decomposing body of a domestic abuse victim is believed to have been found in her Bronx apartment after the woman’s downstairs neighbor complained of maggots falling from the ceiling. down.
Police found the decomposing remains of Ashley Ducille after the tenant below her told the building superintendent that maggots were crawling through her ceiling, New York Daily News report Sunday.
Ducille was found next to the body of a man believed to be her abusive boyfriend, Exciting news now reported. Police believe Ducille died in a murder-suicide at the hands of her boyfriend.
The boyfriend’s name has yet to be revealed.
“She used to say to me, ‘Can you call me to see if I’m okay? Can you give me a call? Can you please check me out? ‘” Ernesto Garcia, the director of the building, said to Exciting news now. The tenant who reported the maggots to Garcia on Saturday also told him that a week ago, on November 6, she heard two gunshots from the apartment and a loud noise, the report added. .
NS Exciting news now reports that the police who answered Garcia’s call were overwhelmed by a stench even before they opened the door to Ducille’s apartment. Ducille was eventually found dead on the couch in the living room, and the man was found dead on the floor nearby.
A gun was found next to the man, the report said, citing unnamed sources.
Ducille is 29 years old, and the man found next to her is 40 years old, according to New York Post.
Ducille’s father said to Exciting news now that he was stunned by the death of his daughter.
“The shock hasn’t hit me yet. It’s just crazy. It was just devastating,” Anthony Ducille the report said. “She is a good mother. She loves her children.”
Ducille, who has four children, has previously expressed that she is afraid of her boyfriend.
Garcia, the building manager, told Exciting news now. “Every two weeks, change the locks. She used to be very angry with her boyfriend and once took his keys.”
But the boyfriend will find other ways to get into the mansion, Garcia said, such as climbing up an emergency window during Ducille’s fire or standing outside the door of her apartment. Exciting news now story continues.
Ducille recently lost custody of her children, but they were with her on Halloween, according to her stepbrother. Joseph Donald.
Donald was previously concerned about children’s safety and contacted the Children’s Services Administration (ACS) about two years ago.
“I organized a couple of people, and we went up and broke down the door and took the kids,” Donald recalls.
Ducille wasn’t there but had her boyfriend, Donald said.
“It was a hell hole and we only brought the kids. … No food in the fridge, no food in the fridge, nothing at all. Donald said.
He explained to ACS officials that if the children lived with Ducille, they would live in a home with rampant prostitution and drug use, Exciting news now story said.
However, Donald says Ducille has potential. She has worked as an EMT and most recently worked for SeniorCare in the Bronx, transporting patients between hospitals to nursing homes.
Garcia said the last time he saw Ducille, she told him she was terrified of her boyfriend.
Garcia said: ‘She was bruised all over her body. “She was beaten. She told me he broke a bone in his back. Her hand was swollen. The police used to come here constantly. Every Saturday, they used to be here.”
But when they last spoke on the phone on October 28, she seemed positive, according to Garcia.
“She seemed happy,” Garcia said. “She told me with a smile that she was going to give me a Christmas present for the warmth.”
