Make sure you don’t make a major iPhone mistake that will ruin your battery life

IF you are an iPhone owner, you may be making a simple mistake that is draining your battery life.

It’s connected to your phone network – and the data speeds you get.

If you have an iPhone 12 or later, it means your Apple smartphone supports fast 5G internet.

You won’t get 5G speeds unless you also have a supporting SIM plan – and 5G network coverage in your area.

But once you use 5G, it could start to affect your iPhone’s battery life.

Using 5G internet tends to be more battery intensive than 4G and this could cause you some problems.

Luckily, Apple has several settings that can limit this.

First open the Settings app and then go to Cellular data.

Now tap on your SIM card – you may have several if you also use an eSIM.

Next select Voice & Data where you can select 5G settings.

If you’re extremely nervous about the battery life, then picking the 4G option might be the best option.

However, the ideal solution is to use 5G Auto.

“5G Auto only uses 5G if it doesn’t significantly decrease battery life,” Apple explains.

That means only use 5G if it doesn’t impact your battery life.

The third option is 5G On, which uses 5G internet even if it reduces battery life.

You might want to use this when you’re fully charged, don’t care about battery life and just want the best speeds.

If you’re watching a high-resolution video or downloading a large file and battery life isn’t a concern, this might be a great option.
