Man (20) dies after accident in Galway

Gardaí are currently at the scene of a fatal single vehicle road traffic accident in Co Galway.

The driver, a man in his 20s, was pronounced dead at the scene.

His body was taken to Galway University Hospital where a post-mortem will take place at a later date. No other injuries were reported.

The incident happened around 2.50am this morning on the R347 near Ballyglunin, Tuam.

The scene is currently being held pending investigation by Forensic Collision Investigators.

The R347 between Annagh Hill and Palm Tree Junction is currently closed due to local detours.

Gardaí appeals to all witnesses to this collision to come forward.

They are also attractive to any road user who has camera footage, including dashcams, and was in the area between 2:30am and 3:00am to make that footage available to Gardaí.
