Man, 30, attacked in Sligo on Tuesday dies in hospital

A man in his 30s died in Sligo earlier this week after a serious attack.

The attack took place at Rockwood Parade in Sligo on Tuesday night.

The man was treated by ambulance shortly after 6pm for an apparent head injury and was taken to Sligo University Hospital.

He was later transferred to Beaumont Hospital in Dublin after his condition became critical.

Gardaí have confirmed that the victim died from his injuries in the early hours of the morning.

Gardaí preserved the scene at Rockwood Parade, Sligo and a forensic examination was carried out.

Gardaí investigation is asking witnesses to come forward.

Anyone who was in the vicinity from 5:00 p.m. to 6:15 p.m. Tuesday night, as well as anyone who has camera or dashcam footage of the location at the time of the incident to provide to them.
