A man is in critical condition after a major attack in Sligo last night.
The man, in his late 30s, was seriously attacked at Rockwood Parade in Sligo on Tuesday night.
He was treated by ambulance shortly after 6pm for an apparent head injury and was taken to Sligo University Hospital.
The man has since been transferred to Dublin’s Beaumont Hospital, where his condition is described as critical.
The scene was preserved and a forensic examination was conducted.
Gardaí investigation is asking witnesses to come forward. Anyone who was in the vicinity from 5:00 p.m. to 6:15 p.m. Tuesday night, as well as anyone who has camera or dashcam footage of the location at the time of the incident to provide to them.
