Man (30 years old) to appear in court in connection with armed robbery of business on St. Patrick’s Day

A man in his 30s will appear in court this morning charged in connection with an armed robbery in which employees were threatened, at a business in Clontarf, Dublin yesterday afternoon.

ardaí in Clontarf arrested a man following an armed robbery at a premises on Collinswood Avenue, Dublin 9.

“At approximately 3:45 p.m. yesterday, a lone man entered the business on Collinswood Avenue with a weapon and threatened employees,” Gardaí said in a statement.

“He left the scene in a taxi with some items from the premises. During a subsequent search, Gardaí stopped a taxi on Swords Street and the suspect attempted to escape on foot.

“Gardaí has ​​arrested a man, late 30s, and several items stolen from the facility located. He was taken to Clontarf Garda station where he was detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984.”

Gardaí has ​​confirmed that a man has been charged in connection with the robbery and will appear before a special hearing of the Criminal Court, Court No 1, this morning at 10:30.

Investigations are underway.
