Man, 40, dies after his car collides with a wall in Co Meath


A man in his 40s died in a car crash in Co Meath this morning.

This car collided with a wall at Patrick Street, Trim at approximately 1:55 am.

Gardaí had become aware of the car before the incident, so the An Garda Síochána Ombudsman Commission (GSOC) was notified.

The driver was taken to Connolly Hospital Blanchardstown, where he later died.

The Patrick Street accident site will remain closed this afternoon as Garda Forensic Collision Investigators conduct a technical investigation of the scene.

“Gardaí in Trim appeals to anyone who may have witnessed this incident to get in touch,” said a Gardaí spokesman.

“Anyone who was near Patrick Street between 1:30am and 2:00am this morning, including any road users who may have camera footage (including dashcam), is asked to get in touch with us.
