Man, 40, hospitalized after being attacked by ‘several men’ in Temple Bar

A man was taken to hospital after a serious attack in Dublin city last night.

The man, in his 40s, was attacked around 9.50pm on Lower Fownes Street, Temple Bar.

He was treated at the scene by paramedics before being taken to St James’ Hospital.

His injuries are believed to be serious but not life-threatening. Gardaí have asked for witnesses to come forward.

Gardaí attended the scene following reports of a man being attacked by a number of other men on Fownes Street Lower.

Pearse Street Gardaí are appealing to anyone with information or footage of this incident, which is believed to have started at a fast food restaurant in Temple Bar Square, before moving into the Fownes Street areas between 9:30pm and 10pm drawn to contact them.
