A MAN has been charged in connection with the fatal shooting of a father of three outside his home in west Dublin earlier this month.
Michael Tormey, 49, was shot outside his home on Thomond Street in Ballyfermot, in Dublin, at dawn on January 9th.
The incident happened after the father-of-three, who is not involved in organized crime, returned home from a social activity.
His wife and young daughter were in the house when take a shot happen.
A man, 40, has been charged in connection with the incident and will appear before Criminal Court tomorrow morning.
A woman, 39, who is also being questioned in connection with the shooting, has been released free of charge and a file has been sent to the Director of Public Prosecutions.
A statement read: “Gardai is investigating the fatal shooting of a man in his 40s that occurred at his residence on Thomond Street, Ballyfermot on Sunday, January 9, 2022, has charged a man.
“The man (age 40) has been charged in connection with the incident and will appear before the Criminal Justice Court on the morning of Wednesday, January 19, 2022 at 10:30 am.

“The woman (age 39) was released this evening and a case will be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.
“Investigations are ongoing.”
