Man, 50, dies after getting into trouble in the water in Kerry

A man died last night after getting into trouble on Cromane Bay in Co Kerry.

The approximately 50-year-old man was taken out of the water around 10 p.m. and pronounced dead a short time later.

A Garda spokesman said it was known the man entered the water after falling off a boat.

The man is the fourth person to die in water-related incidents in the past week.

“At around 10pm on Sunday 17 July 2022, Gardaí and the emergency services were alerted after a man in his 50’s got into trouble in the water at Cromane Bay, Kilorglin, Co Kerry,” the Garda spokesman said .

His body was taken from the scene to the morgue at Kerry University Hospital by ambulance.

A file is created for the coroner.
