Man, 70, dies after being hit by a car in Cahir, Co Tipperary to appeal to witnesses

A man has died after being hit by a car in Co Tipperary last night.

The 70-year-old was hit by a car while walking on Castle Street in Cahir at around 5:50pm.

He came in a hurry University Hospital Cork by emergency services but later passed away.

The driver of the car was unharmed in the tragic accident on the road.

An autopsy will take place with notice from the local coroner.

Castle Street in Cahir Still closed this morning as the scene was examined by forensic crash investigators.

Local redirects are also maintained.

Gardai is now appealing for witnesses to come forward and any road user with video is asked to provide it.

Meanwhile, a young man was taken to the hospital with serious injuries after accident in Dublin over the weekend.

The only car crash took place on Vico Road, Dalkey, on Saturday night.

He was taken to St Vincent’s hospital to be treated for his injuries.

Last Friday, a man in his 40s died after a fatal car crash in Roscommon.

The road crash happened on the N61 at Ballybay in Kiltoom.

Gardai and emergency services were on the scene shortly after 9:30 a.m. after the alarm was raised.
