A man in his 80s, died after a collision between two vehicles in Co Offaly.
Gardai and ambulance services rushed to the scene in an N52 at Arden near Tullamore, Co Offaly around 1:30 p.m. today.
This elderly man was the only person and driver of the car involved in the collision with a truck.
He was taken from the scene by ambulance to Midland Regional Hospital, Tullamore, where he was later declared dead.
The driver and the sole occupant of the truck involved in the crash were both in their 30s.
He was treated at the scene and did not need to go to the hospital.
N52 road is still closed as Gardai work to conduct technical inspection.
Police are now appealing for any eyewitnesses to the crash anyone with relevant dash cam footage to look for.

An Garda Siochana spokeswoman said: “Gardai in Tullamore is appealing for witnesses following a fatal road traffic collision in County Offaly on Friday, January 21, 2022.
“Shortly after 1:30 p.m., Gardai and emergency services were at the scene of a collision involving a car and a van on board the N52 at Arden near Tullamore.
“The driver and sole occupant of the vehicle, a man in his 80s, was taken by ambulance from the scene to Midland Regional Hospital, Tullamore, where he was later pronounced dead. The driver and lone occupant of the truck, a man in his late 30s, was treated at the scene and did not need hospital treatment.
“The road at the crash site is currently closed to allow Garda Forensic Collision Investigators to conduct a technical inspection.
“Gardai is appealing for witnesses to come forward and also appeals to any passersby with video taken from the crash site to provide them.
