The rescue workers found a woman and a man dead in neighboring apartments.
Paramedics made the discovery after being called to an address in south Manchester.
They found a dead woman on the property and later discovered that a man had died in a neighboring apartment.
Police investigations into both deaths are now ongoing Manchester evening news reports.
Firefighters were also on the scene after a gas leak was reported, with nearby businesses being evacuated.
A spokesman for Greater Manchester Police said: “We were contacted by NWAS at around 4.20pm today (23 April 2022) regarding a deceased woman at an address in Princess Road, Manchester.

“Officials were present and while at the address were further contacted at 7.10pm over a welfare concern at a neighboring flat.
“NWAS first visited the address and unfortunately found a deceased man inside.
“An investigation into both deaths is ongoing and there is a scene. GMFRS participated in a test for a gas leak and nearby businesses were evacuated as a precaution to ensure public safety.
“At this stage there is no risk to the wider community and the investigation is at a very early stage.”

A spokesman for the Greater Manchester Fire Rescue Service said: “At 19:52 on Saturday 23 April 2022, fire engines from Withington and Salford fire stations attended a suspected gas leak at a flat on Princess Road in Manchester.
“Firefighters deployed gas detectors to check the affected and adjacent properties and assisted colleagues from Greater Manchester Police and the North West Ambulance Service. The crews remain present.”
