Man angry at neighbor for asking to ban takeout after delivery

A man has been caught up in an argument with his neighbors after they tried to ban him from ordering takeout because of repeated mixed deliveries on their way.

We can all feel guilty enjoying some freshly cooked food delivered straight to our front doors, but one man on Reddit was furious after his delicious treats began to cause an uproar in his neighborhood – with some on the street threatening to ban him from ordering.

Share his story The unnamed person explained that he lives in a complex that includes both apartments and houses, with apartments numbered 1-10 and houses numbered 2-10.

The man said he lives in apartment 5, but sometimes delivery drivers get confused when they read the address and they accidentally knock on the door of number 5.

But the residents of house 5 were unimpressed by the disruption to their evening, and asked the man to stop ordering takeout altogether.

He said: “I live in a sheltered housing complex with apartments and houses. Apartments are numbered 1-10 and houses are 2-10. I live in apartment number 5. and I like to travel several times a week.

“The trouble was, some delivery drivers got confused and would knock on the door of number 5, people got really upset and came to me and asked me to stop ordering food to their apartment.

“The problem is, I don’t – I entered my address correctly and in the notes on the app I give directions. It says ‘please go left after passing the gate and reaching the apartment. Call. [mobile number] when outside. “

The man believes his instructions are “quite clear,” but sometimes delivery drivers don’t read them, or just don’t understand them – so the problem persists.

He added: “I feel it’s pretty obvious, but the trouble seems to be the drivers not reading the notes. Either that or the fact that it seems some drivers have a poor level of English when they do. grew up abroad. Tried to stay at number 5 but failed, a driver called me and I had to leave my apartment and go meet him outside because he didn’t understand my directions.

“The family has asked me to stop ordering food because it disturbs their evening. I say sorry, but I did nothing wrong, and it can happen once a week or two.”

Commenters on the Reddit post rallied behind the man’s back, insisting it was not his fault and that he would not intentionally mess up the delivery.

One person said: “You’re not at fault here, and while it might annoy them, they’re being mean by telling you never to order delivery just because they have to answer. door once every few weeks.”

While another added: “This is stupid. Is there a community association? Can you suggest renumbering the houses or apartments so they don’t repeat? Or maybe complain to the member town or town. Whoever thought of this numbering system was a fool.”
