Man arrested after another man, 40, was stabbed in Kilkenny

A man has died after a serious attack in Co Kilkenny today.

The man, in his 40s, was found with serious injuries. He was taken to St. Luke’s General Hospital, where he has since passed away.

The incident took place this afternoon at Hebron Road, Kilkenny. Gardaí arrived at the scene of the incident around 12:45 p.m.

A Garda spokesman said the scene is currently being preserved to allow for technical investigation. The Office of the State Pathologist has been notified.

“A man in his late 20s was arrested at the scene and taken to Kilkenny Garda Station where he is currently being held under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984,” the spokesman said.

Gardaí in Kilkenny are appealing for anyone with information about this incident to get in touch.

Anyone found on Hebron Road between 12.30pm and 1pm this afternoon, including any road users who may have camera footage, including dashcams, is being asked to provide it to the Gardaí investigation.
