Man arrested after Britain’s King Charles had eggs thrown at him during his visit to York

A man has been arrested by police after apparently throwing eggs at the King and Queen Consort during a tour of York.
Police officers at Micklegate Bar were seen holding the suspect on the ground behind makeshift fences erected for the King’s visit to the city on Wednesday.
The King and Queen consort were greeted by city leaders in York when a protester threw three eggs at them, all of which missed, before the pair were led away.
The man was heard screaming, “This country was built on the blood of slaves” as he was arrested by about four police officers.
Other people in the crowd began chanting “God save the King” and “Shame on you” at the protesters.
Charles and Camilla are visiting Yorkshire to celebrate a series of engagements on Wednesday.
