Man arrested after gun fired in Longford

A man in his 30s was arrested after gardaí conducted searches after a gun was fired in Longford.

Ardaí in Longford, who was investigating the discharge of a firearm in Dundarragh, Longford on Tuesday afternoon, conducted a series of searches this morning.

A total of five residential properties in Longford were searched during the raids and a number of items relating to the investigation were seized.

A man in his late 30s was arrested at the scene and taken to Longford Garda train station.

The investigations are ongoing.
