Man arrested for insider trading is arrested at Garda station in south Dublin

A man has been arrested for insider trading and is being held at a Garda station in south Dublin.

Garda National Economic Crime Bureau (GNECB) officials said today they arrested the man on the offense of insider trading, which violates Regulation 5 of the European Union (Market Abuse) Regulations 2016.

A Garda spokesman said the extensive investigation, conducted by GNECB, moved forward with the support of Central Bank of Ireland staff and their expertise and experience was invaluable.

“This investigation is one of several ongoing market abuse investigations at the GNECB,” they added.
