Man arrested for more than a year while fleeing police
A man who has been on the run from police for more than a year has been arrested and charged.
Mark Stinton, 38, of no fixed address, was wanted by Sussex Police after an incident on Southwick Green in the early hours of September 26, 2021.
After 17 months on the run, Stinton turned himself in on February 1 and was arrested and charged with intentional aggravated assault.
He pleaded not guilty in an appearance in Crawley Magistrates’ Court yesterday and was released on strict bail including an electronic badge.
Stinton will appear in court again on March 3 for a pre-trial hearing.
