Man arrested on suspicion after A280 crash in Angmering

A man has been arrested on suspicion of driving drugs after an accident involving a motorcycle and a car.

The accident happened around 4.15pm yesterday on the A280 Angmering Bypass near the junction with Water Lane.

A man was taken to the Royal County Sussex Hospital in Brighton with serious injuries.

A rescue plane was also present at the crash.

A 45-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of driving a vehicle with levels of a certain narcotic above the specified limit.

He was released under investigation while the investigation continues.

The road was temporarily closed to allow rescue workers to clear the collision and recover the vehicles involved. Since then it has reopened.
