A MAN driving at “excessive speed” was stopped and arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving, drunk driving and drug driving.
The Ford Focus was spotted on Sutherland Road in Brighton just after 6pm on Tuesday.
The car was stopped just over a mile away at the Wilson Avenue junction, which led to Warren Road near Brighton Racecourse.
A spokesman for Sussex Police said: “Police received a report at 6.10pm on September 20 of a vehicle suspected of speeding in Sutherland Road, Brighton.
“A 37-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving, assault, drunk driving, drug trafficking and possession of cannabis.
“He has been released under investigation pending further investigation.”
