Man charged with drug offenses in Hastings
A man has been charged with drug-related offenses after police seized more than ten kilograms of drugs and cash.
Andrew Walker, 41, of no fixed address, was arrested on Bohemia Road in Hastings earlier this week after police later carried out a series of searches.
Walker was subsequently charged with possession of cocaine with intent to supply a Class B drug and possession of criminal property.
He appeared at Brighton Magistrates’ Court yesterday and was remanded in custody to appear next on March 2 at Lewes Crown Court for a plea and pre-trial hearing.
Prevention Inspector Aidan Cornwall said: “Sussex Police are committed to protecting people in Sussex from the harm that drugs can cause.
“A big part of this is working with our partners and other outside agencies to stop the supply of drugs into our communities while trying to help vulnerable users, offer support and enforce the law.
“You can report information about drugs to us on the Sussex Police website.
“Alternatively, you can also report anonymously through the independent charity Crimestoppers online or by calling 0800 555 111.”
