A man found dead under “unexplained circumstances” in Co Donegal is a former school care worker who kicked off a massive PPE project at the start of the Covid pandemic.
John Kelly, a married father of two, was found dead in a the street behind some houses in Buncrana on the Inishowen peninsula on Friday night.
A passerby found the body of Mr. Kelly, about 50 years old, at Knockalla Drive around 7:30pm.
This area was immediately sealed off by Gardai.
A Garda forensic team has arrived at the scene and the State Pathologist’s office will be in attendance.
As well as sealing off the nearby area, the gardai also sealed off another green area nearby.
Some officers also carried out door-to-door investigations into Kelly’s last known movements.
The results of the autopsy, when completed, will determine the direction of Garda’s investigation into Kelly’s death.

Originally from Derry, He has lived in the area for 25 years and is highly regarded by the local community.
He is a carer at St Oran National School in Cockhill.
He is survived by his grieving wife Anita as well as an adult son and daughter.
