A Dublin man has pleaded guilty to the wrongful murder of his sister, who was fatally shot earlier this year.

Erek Boyd, 27, appeared today via video link at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court, where he reiterated his signed guilty pleas from the District Court.

He pleaded guilty to the unlawful killing of his sister, Sandra Boyd, at his home in Collins Place, Finglas, on March 19 this year.

He also pleaded guilty to one count of wrongful possession of a semi-automatic pistol and one count of wrongful possession of ammunition on the same day.

Michael Bowman SC, who is defending himself, told the court he needed some time to prepare a psychological report. Victim statements were also ordered.

Judge Martin Nolan adjourned the matter for sentencing on November 28. The court heard Boyd, who is being held in custody, will appear in court in person that day.
